  It's been 34 years since I started my real estate and auction career. I was just 17 years old when I sold my first farm at auction. The greatest love affair of my life began that day and I've made it my life's work. I've always believed that everyone in the world should own a home. Life is about change and the real estate profession continues to change and so do I. My first contract was written on a piece of note book paper, the broker that I worked for just didn't give me any training, but God rest his soul he was a fine man. Now we have at least a 10 page contract. Come to think of it, he didn't even tell me that I had to have a license until I turned 18 then he brought me a application with a $15 check, that was my birthday present from him.  J. C. was one of my greatest professional influence's, but my dad was my hero. He was the most honest and truthful man I've ever know and he passed that on to me. I truly believe in calling a spade a spade, I tell it like I see it and over the years it has cost me business.  The real estate business is not a business for the timid, you've got to have grit and determination and be willing to stand up for what's right, without it you are just another license holder.

   For me it's all about the family that I'm working with at that time, they are and should be the most important thing in my mind. They deserve my full attention and respect as this is the biggest investment they will ever make or have made. I don't even take phone calls when I'm with someone, and my agents don't either, because at one time or another I have borrowed a phone and called them when I knew they were with clients. When you work with me in the sale or purchase of your home you have a professional and a friend working for you, I just can't spend this much time with someone and not become friends with them. You can rest assured that I will be with you from beginning to end, at no point during your transaction will I not be with you and working for you.

  My knowledge of the Richmond/Berea real estate market is extensive and so is my knowledge of homes. My Dad was a plumbing contractor and over the years I have built homes, purchased and remodled homes and I believe that my extensive knowlege of homes truly does give me an edge. Usually I know what the home inspector is going to put in his report unless it is a hidden defect that I can't see.
